Whether you bought a rifle online or you're picking out your first suppressor, we make the transfer side simple. Below: how each kind of transfer works, what it costs, and what to bring. Start the process at the bottom of the page.
If you've bought a firearm online — from GunBroker, a manufacturer, or a private out-of-state seller — federal law requires it to ship to a licensed dealer. We'll receive it, log it in, run your background check, and hand it over.
Valid Georgia driver's license or government photo ID with current address. If your ID address is out-of-date, also bring proof of Georgia residency (utility bill, lease, etc.).
| Type | Fee |
|---|---|
| Long Gun (rifle / shotgun) | $20 |
| Handgun | $20 |
Fees are flat-rate. Georgia sales tax does not apply to private transfers. Cash, card, or Zelle accepted.
If a seller charges you a "transfer fee" on their end, that's their fee — not ours. Ours is paid here at pickup. Always confirm the firearm is legal in Georgia before you buy.
Yes — that's exactly what an FFL transfer is for. Long guns and handguns can both ship to us from a licensed seller in any state. Some states (like California) restrict what residents can send out — that's on the seller's side.
We'll hold for up to 30 days at no extra charge. Beyond that, drop us a note and we'll work it out — we'd rather you have time to come pick it up than charge storage.
Federal law lets us release after 3 business days if NICS hasn't returned a denial. We'll call you when that happens.
21 to take possession of a handgun under federal law; 18 for a long gun (Georgia matches federal). We verify with photo ID at pickup — no exceptions.
Buying a suppressor, SBR, SBS, or other Title II item means an ATF Form 4 — a transfer from a dealer to an individual or trust. As of January 1, 2026, the $200 federal transfer tax on silencers and SBRs has been eliminated. Here's the full play-by-play.
Choose your silencer (or other NFA item). Pay in full at order — no $200 tax stamp on silencers or SBRs as of Jan 2026. Item ships to us.
Apply as an individual or through a gun trust. We offer both single-shot and traditional trusts in-house — we'll walk through the trade-offs.
Stop in for EFT prints and photo. We submit the Form 4 eFile to ATF the same day.
By law, eFile auto-notifies your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer. No approval needed — just notification.
ATF reviews and (assuming a clean background) issues a tax stamp. eFile times have improved dramatically — often weeks, not months.
Stamp arrives. You stop by, sign a 4473, take possession of your silencer and a copy of the approved Form 4. Don't lose it.
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Form 4 eFile (silencer purchase from us) | Included |
| NFA transfer-in (with EFT) | $60 |
| NFA transfer-in (via Silencer Shop) | $80 |
| Form 1 eFile (SBR / make & register) | $50 |
| EFT — when buying or transferring through us | Free |
| EFT — export to your own flash drive | $40 |
| ATF tax stamp (silencers & SBRs) | $0 |
The $200 ATF transfer tax on silencers and SBRs was eliminated January 1, 2026. Other NFA items (machine guns, AOWs) may still carry it.
It depends. ATF eFile times have been dramatically shorter than the old paper-Form 4 backlog — many recent customers see approval in days to weeks. ATF doesn't publish guarantees; we'll give you our most current estimate when you order.
No. Federal law requires approval and possession of the tax stamp before you can take it home or use it. The silencer sits in our vault until your Form 4 is approved.
Any person on a gun trust who has the authority to direct the use or disposition of trust property. Each Responsible Person submits prints, a photo, and ATF Form 5320.23. If you're using a single-person trust, that's just you.
You'll need to file an ATF Form 5320.20 to take the NFA item across state lines permanently. Temporary trips are fine without the form, but only to states where the item is legal. Always check state law before traveling with NFA.
Yes — every Title II item requires its own Form 4. The $200 tax stamp on silencers and SBRs is now $0 as of January 2026, but each item still needs its own Form 4 approval.
Denials are rare for clean backgrounds. With no $200 tax stamp on silencers or SBRs, there's nothing to refund from ATF. We'll work with you on next steps — including refunding the silencer purchase if you want out.
Three paths, all fully legal and approved at the same rate. The difference is who can possess the item, what happens to it down the road, and how much you want to do up front. We offer both trust options in-house.
Good fit if you want one stamp and don't plan to add others to the use of the item.
Best of both worlds for first-time buyers — quick, affordable, and skips probate. New trust required for each new item.
Best for households and collectors. Spouse, family, or partners on the trust can all use the silencer legally.
Single-shot trusts are $25 each (one per NFA item). Traditional trusts have a one-time setup fee — ask for the current rate. Either way, we handle the paperwork at your appointment so you walk out ready to file.
Tell us what you need — FFL, NFA, or just a question. We respond within one business day.
